A Legacy of Service

The Michigan Men's Health Event is more than an outreach operation. It is a living tribute to the legacy of the late Detroit barber instructor, Chris Waymaster. Team Waymaster pairs free, professional grooming with on-site health screenings, so every haircut is also an invitation to get checked.

2025 at Ford Field: the event drew 1,750 registered participants, the largest turnout in its 15-year history, and screenings sent 3 men directly to the hospital for immediate care.

2026 at the Wayne State Fieldhouse: 11 licensed barbers served from 9am to 3pm and launched our Community Hair Care Partner pledge. Barbers commit 10, 20 or 30 free services at their own shops within a year, and men not served on site leave with a voucher to a partner shop.
