BARCOS FOUNDATION
Empowering Change, Building a Brighter Future
About Barcos Foundation
The Barcos Foundation is a dedicated public charity committed to making a tangible difference in our community. We are proud to announce that we have been officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). This designation confirms our commitment to public service and allows us to accept contributions that are beneficial to our donors.
Our effective date of exemption is July 11, 2024, and we operate with an accounting period ending on December 31. We are classified as a public charity under IRC Section 509(a)(2).
Your Contribution, Your Impact, Your Tax Benefit
We believe in the power of collective action. When you contribute to the Barcos Foundation, you're not just giving; you're investing in meaningful change and directly supporting our mission (details of our specific programs will be updated here soon!). Every donation helps us expand our reach and deepen our impact.
Tax Deductibility for Donors:
We are pleased to confirm that your contributions to the Barcos Foundation are tax-deductible. Under IRC Section 170, individuals and corporations can deduct contributions made to us.
Furthermore, we are qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under Sections 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the IRC. This means your generosity can have a lasting impact while also providing significant tax advantages.
Transparency and Accountability
As a 501(c)(3) public charity, the Barcos Foundation is committed to transparency. We are required to file an annual information return (Form 990 or Form 990-EZ) or electronic notice (Form 990-N, the e-Postcard) with the IRS. This ensures our operations and finances are open to public scrutiny.
